‘Nature is not a privilege; it’s a necessity.’ Gutiérrez-Graudiņš at #LCW2021
Azul’s Founder & Executive Director, Marce Gutiérrez-Graudiņš, was among several ocean conservation advocates that participated in the 2021 edition of Latino Conservation Week 2021. Among them was a California 30X30 Equity Roundtable Panel discussion that centered in the importance of including equity at the heart of policymaking.
“Nature is not a privilege; it is a necessity,” said Gutiérrez-Graudiņš, during the July 20, 2021 virtual gathering. “We’re basically having a goal of protecting nature with people, not from it.”
