Since 2016, #LatinosMarinos has been working to increase Latinx participation to protect our ocean and coasts – we’re changing the narrative on who is an ocean leader! (Hint, it’s YOU.)
Now, we are PUMPED to roll out a new opportunity for you to be acknowledged and celebrated as an ocean champion and to bring the lucha back to your community! Can we get a drum roll, please??
Azul is proud to launch the #LatinosMarinos Rising Leaders Initiative – a new leadership development program that equips emerging Latinx leaders to become ocean champions and advocate for ocean conservation policies. The program includes:
• Week-long program in D.C. to celebrate World Ocean Day (June 5-9) & celebrate achievements with a graduation reception
• Virtual gatherings & workshops in English & Spanish
• $1,200 stipend
• Possibility of added funds to support community projects
The program kicks off on April 19! There are no prerequisites to apply. Participants must be at least 18 years of age, reside in the U.S., and be willing and able to join all the activities involved, including travel.
